While this is a wonderful and clever feature for the iphone, I strongly encourage you to use it for entertainment purposes only.   Massage if done incorrectly could cause harm.  That being said…I highly doubt that a vibrating phone would cause harm to you or anyone playing with your phone but it does illustrate the point of just letting the professionals do the work.  Clever feature….non clever results.

Update: It appears a similar feature is available for the XBox 360.

Here is an article about a local woman who used holistic health practices to better her life and her circumstances.

Here is an interesting article I came across regarding fibromyalgia and how massage therapy helped this woman finally find relief from the constant pain.  Check it out.

Constant Cravings

October 9, 2008 | No Comments | Health

First let me apologize for not blogging more often. I am VERY new to this whole blog thing (much to my husband’s dismay) so I sometimes forget that to let you know how I am progressing. I am having some craving issues…love the chocolate…but should work through them soon. I love the fresh apples of the season and the variety of them are keeping my interest. I have been doing interval training; a cross between walking and running which seems to be working out for me. Although I find myself extraordinarily hungry! I am starting to crave protein…I NEVER thought I would say that ever. More later…hopefully I will remember before 9 days from now! See you soon.

5K Race Training!

October 1, 2008 | No Comments | Health

Today is my first day of “training” for a 5K that is coming up at my church. I am nervous, excited, scared and worried all in one. I ate very healthy foods today in hopes that would give me adequate fuel for my first run this afternoon. I had meant to go in the morning…but with children getting ready for school and what not…well I am sure you know how that goes or can at least take a guess. I am coming off of a week long cleanse that I did at the Greece office along with Dr. Kris, his wife and several of his patients. I feel great and have hopefully created a fresh start for my body. That is why the sudden interest in running and a 5K race. Training for a 5K I believe is attainable and something that just might get me to where I want to be physically and that is healthy. I don’t care anymore about a certain number. I DO care about feeling healthy and alive. Here’s hoping! I will let you know how the first run went.

OSTM, the school I graduated from is hosting a Health Fair this Saturday from 9-1 at their Village Gate campus. If you are interested click here for more information.

NOTE: This article is not based in Rochester, NY…and in no way am I suggesting that you travel to Michigan for a massage. Actually I would love if you would consider working with me…but that is besides the point. The article hit the nail on the head. Massage is not about being frivolous anymore. It is about Life Maintenance. Click here to read more.

I was reading an article that my brother in law sent to me about how massage relieves post surgery pain. I was thrilled to read the results of this study. It suggests that not only is the post surgical pain less intense when massage was received , the pain was also less unpleasant. The article also gives a laundry list of the different benefits of massage post surgery. If you or someone you know is going in for surgery soon, you may want to pass along this article.
